During this webinar, Tim O’Toole will delve into recent pivotal developments in jurisdictions heavily sanctioned by the U.S. The webinar will provide a detailed overview of crucial U.S. sanctions programs, followed by a focus on recent noteworthy developments, such as the expansion of U.S. sanctions into additional sectors, important designations by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and recent modifications in the scope of sanctions, as exemplified by recent events in Venezuela. Additionally, Tim will also discuss proactive compliance measures that companies can adopt in response to these developments. Special attention will be given to identifying emerging risks and implementing customized risk mitigation strategies tailored to the evolving landscape of sanctions.

This webinar will include PowerPoint slides and live video and commentary from Timothy P. O’Toole, Esq. Webinar participants are invited to submit questions during the webinar and the final 30 minutes will be allotted to answering attendee questions.

Speaker Bio: Timothy P. O’Toole, Esq. is a member of the law firm of Miller & Chevalier Chartered, in Washington D.C., and the leader of the export controls and sanctions group. Between his time at Miller & Chevalier and his time in government service, he has been conducting and leading large-scale defense investigations for over 20 years. His main focus is on defending enforcement actions and conducting investigations involving economic sanctions, export controls, and anti-money laundering laws. Full bio here.
